It’s been said that one should always enter and exit meditation in a state of gratitude and grace.
What is meditation?
Is it not centering and focusing on the breath?
The breath is that which inspires us from the heavenly universe.
Therefore, as we breath all day every day of our lives; it logically follows that we actually spend all day every day being inspired and meditating.
Master Yuen was asked to open healing clinics during his workshop. Master Yuen replied that if he was to open healing clinics, he would just open meditation sites so everyone could heal with the most powerful medicine. Your own self-cultivated Jing, Qi and Shen or the Three Treasures. Additionally, Master Wu writes and speaks of the healing power of Qi.
Qigong consists of breath, posture, and intention. As you develop a qigong and longevity practice your breath, intention and postures strengthen. Chinese Tiger Shamanic Qigong secretly practiced on Wudang Mountain for thousands of years is an important qigong associated with the lungs and the metal element. It’s associated with the fall season and the Tiger is considered the 12th animal and holds special powers. It’s also where the Tao originates and referred to as Wu. Tiger skin is very thick and protective. This is also what the lungs accomplish as they circulate our protective defensive wei qi at the skin level. So, it again follows that qigong practice will stimulate and strengthen your immune and digestive systems. Which equates to longevity! Hence the term Daoist/Taoist Longevity Practices.
Self-cultivation is the practice of longevity, and all the other Shamanistic practices and training suggested in order to be a superior practitioner. A Shaman is open to all possibilities and can travel back to the void of the Dao. Combined with Alchemy practice it’s possible to attain Immortality! How Cool is That?
And if you develop a practice and never become an Immortal, at a minimum you will have lived a more spiritually centered, mentally focused and physically balanced life.
And if you don’t feel like you have the time or experience to start your practice. I leave you with words from Master Yuen as he lectured at the Maryland Acupuncture Society continuing education series.
As You heal, those around you heal.
And I say: if you can’t do it for yourself, do it for those around you, which equates to the world.
How beautiful is that?
That’s a beautiful example of the ripple effect. The ripple created by a stone thrown in a pond will ripple to infinity if not acted upon by an opposing force.
